True Aim of Life By Bilqees Mastung

Saying of Quran About True Aim of life

  وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ الۡجِنَّ وَالۡاِنۡسَ اِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُوۡنِ‏ Translation: 'And I (Allah) Created Not The Jinns And Humans Except They Should Worship Me (Alone)' Surah Adh-Dhaariyat: [51:56] about aim of life No doubt the life of this world is mortal and it has been cleared from the above Quranic Verse that people have come here to worship Almighty Allah whish is their aim of life, to be successful in this world (Dunya) and also after this world (in Aakhirah). This true aim of life can be achieved only by following the rules of Allah and His Rasool ﷺ. Certainly, Islam is a complete code of life and Islamic aim of life makes the life meaningful and prosperous while other mortal things of the world such as money can't bring happiness and make us prosperous in the first life (Dunya) and in the second life (Aakhirah).

The Nations and their aim of life

All people around the world have different aims of their lives. Some think, being a wealthy person is the true aim of life. Some think that reaching at a stage e.g achieving a job is the true aim of life and others think that being a well-settled family is the true aim of life. But if we imagine, that we become successful in achieving their these aims of life, then what we'll do after these. These are the aims that are beneficial only for this world and what about Aakhirah? At the Day of Judgement, what we'll present in front of Allah?

The Aim of life for a Muslim

As we are Muslims and the true aim of our life is to get the pleasure of Almighty Allah by obeying Allah and following the rules of His Rasool ﷺ, because it is the only aim, that is beneficial for us in this world and also after this world (in Aakhirah). And the worth valuing thing about this is that if a person makes this, the true aim of his life, then nobody can harm him neither financially nor intentionally. He'll always be in a stable glad state, whether having money, job or complete family or having none of these things. °Wealth; and true  Aim of Life Wealth is the amount of money or the number of rupees that a person posses. With money, a lot of items can be bought. But we often hear of a millionaire committing suicide. Considering this situation, brings a question in our mind that; 'If wealth brings happiness in life as an aim for of life, then why a millionaire commits suicide?' The only answer to this question is;

Wealth as aim of life for disbelievers

Wealth can bring little happiness to a disbeliever, because he/she is not sure about his/her fate. A disbeliever doesn't know the purpose of life. And if he/she has purpose, then this purpose is doomed to be temporary and self destructive. We have seen many disbelievers that they they are very rich by means of money; but by peace, they are the poorest persons of the world. Every aim, except the Islamic aim of life is mortal and temporary. If a person achieves this mortal aim, the after that, he thinks and establishes another aim of life and goes after that. Thus, he/she never finds peace and suffers from depression and from the panic of nothingness.

Need of True aim for leading life life

Therefore, it is necessary to have a meaningful and purposeful aim of life. However, Islam makes it clear to the Muslims, from the very beginning, that the permanent purpose of life is to worship Allah. In fact, Faith (Imaan) is the name of fearing Allah without seeing and following the message of His Rasool ﷺ and doing good deeds. Faith in Allah, gives the believer the purpose of life that he/she needs. In Islam, the purpose of life is to worship Allah. The term 'Worship' covers all the acts of obedience to Allah. The Islamic purpose of life is a standing purpose. The true Muslim sticks to this purpose throughout all the stages of his life, whether he/she is a child, adolescent, adult or an old man. Worshiping Allah makes life meaningful and purposeful. Worshiping Allah is the only thing in this world, to which, all peace, rest, comfort and constant happiness belongs. 'So Let Not This Worldy Life Deceive You' Surah Fatir [Verse-5] As it has been cleared from the above Quranic Verse, that this worldy life is the deceiving place where disbelievers fail to search the true aim, the Islamic aim of life. So, Islam looks the first life as an examination of man (everyone). This life is a test of every person whether he/she understands the true aim, the true meaning of life or not. The true believers (Muslims) know that they are going to spend some years in this worldy life, during which, they have to obey Aah, because at the Day of Judgement,they have to present their good deeds, worshiping Almighty Allah to save themselves entering into Hell (Jahannam). Death is a boundary line between worldy life and the second life. The concept of eternity of second life has a tremendous effect on a Muslim during their first life because Muslims know that their first life determines the shape of their second life and the Day of Judgement. With this belief, obeying and worshiping Allah, the second life and the Day of Judgement, the life becomes purposeful, meaningful and prosperous. Moreover, Muslims standing purpose, true aim of life is to go into Paradise in the second life. 'Those Who Attain To Faith And Do Righteous Deeds, The Gardens Of Paradise Will Be There To Welcome Them'. Quran [18:107]

Summarizing points about  aim in life

Summarizing the topic, with this Quranic Verse, gives us the knowledge that however in this life, if a person worships Allah, obeys Allah, follows His Rasool ﷺ (the best person of the world), does good deeds; in short, makes Islamic aim of life, his/her true aim of life, he'll/she'll enter Paradise; where there is endless joy, peace, comfort and rest. Where everyone is free from all depressions and he/she finds his/her every fish fulfilled there. The most beautiful thing is that he/she meets Almighty Allah. And we are Muslims Alhamdolillah, worshiping Allah and by making Islamic aim of life, the true aim of life, we'll enter Paradise, InshaAllah.
